Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Cost Accounting/Overhead Allocations – Responsible for the company-wide overhead cost allocation system / process
- Oversee Construction in Process (CIP) process, including complete and accurate capture of fixed-asset related costs and timely placement in-service
- Monthly and year end balancing of fixed assets and all overhead related balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Review period-end accruals related to overheads to ensure accuracy/completeness of costs.
- Provide financial analysis of all project estimates (including review all bidding worksheets) for both Vegetation Management and Construction companies, including active participation in the Corporate Bid Committee
- Assist the field and executive team with contract bidding/pricing and negotiations with our customers.
- Primary contact with external auditors for the Consolidated Year End Audit with regards to Fixed Assets & Overhead Accounts and primary contact for all Subsidiary Audits.
- Work closely with CFO and Corporate Controller on special projects such as integration of new or acquired companies.
- Handle other responsibilities, as needed, such as real and personal property tax filings, payroll/bonus accruals and related filings.
Requirements:
- BS in Accounting.
- CPA (Preferred, but not required).
- Preferred experience level - 5 to 9 years’ experience in private or public industry with extensive experience in allocation of overhead costs/cost accounting concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A leader who promotes teamwork.
- Must be able to delegate.
- Working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Excel and Power BI.
- Good social skills in dealing with internal personnel, auditors, and customers (internal and external).
License & Certifications
